APPLICATION CRITERIA – please note, applications are only accepted via the online application form
- You must be a full-time resident of Great Britain, Scotland, Wales, Northern or Southern Ireland.
- You MUST be over 18.
- Both males and females may apply. We have no height, size or age restrictions.
- We are an alternative agency – therefore we are looking for tattoos, piercings, unusual hair styles, and fashion models with experience wearing latex.
- We only accept experienced models.
We are currently looking for marketable, striking models with strong portfolios... preferably with additional experience in promotional work, fashion, catwalk, and trade shows.
- We are non-exclusive. You are able to work freelance and via other agencies.
- Dark Arts representation is free of charge.
- We accept both full and part-time models.
- We do not provide models for porn or adult work of any kind.
- By submitting an application you give us permission to build a website page to represent you as a model.
We may also use your images to advertise the agency in printed media and on the web.
Images will also appear on our social media sites (Facebook and Twitter).
- If you have new images and have undertaken more modelling work since a previous application, you are more than welcome to apply again.
However, please do not continue to submit the same application - if we do not email you within 7 days, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
- We do not answer unsuccessful applications or provide feedback.
IMAGE CRITERIA
- Poor quality images will not be accepted.
This includes images which are too small, low resolution, blurry, phone or webcam shots.
Please do NOT apply if you don't have any professional quality images... there are no exceptions to this rule. Existing portfolios on the website should give you an indication of what we expect.
- No sexually explicit images, bondage, horror or gore shots will be accepted.
Excessive nudity and strip teases are also not suitable.
- Please submit a good variety of images which clearly show your face, current look and modelling capability.
Wigs, masks, facepaint and images where your face is covered should be avoided.
Images should be recent and show your current hair style and colour wherever possible.
- Image watermarks with links to soft or hardcore porn sites, or pay-to-view websites of any kind will not be permitted.
- Photographer watermarks are fine and we recommend you keep these in place.
The agency does not manipulate images, remove watermarks or claim copyright to photographs provided by models.
Any minor cropping is to ensure images fit within our website design.
- Images that violate copyright laws are not acceptable. Only submit images which you hold the copyright to or have permission from the photographer or copyright holder to use.
- Amateur models will not be represented by Dark Arts until you have had at least one professional shoot. If we like your look and think you have potential, we may recommend a photographer in your area.
We also suggest listing at Model Mayhem to build up contacts and a portfolio.
REPRESENTATION INFORMATION
- All models must keep the agency updated with any changes in appearance, location, and contact details (email address and mobile number).
- We take a commission fee of 20% (industry standard) on top of any work we book.
- Once confirmed for an assignment, an agency/model contract will be issued for the job.
- As an agency we handle bookings and payments on your behalf. When you are contracted for a job we will also ask for your bank details in order to pay you via online bank transfer.
- We may occasionally offer TFP or unpaid test shoots to help develop portfolios. Dark Arts does not charge for this type of work and models are under no obligation to accept such work.
- Images and model names can be changed at any time. Please email us with the details.
- We select an avatar image we feel portrays each model at their very best and clearly shows the face and their current look.
If you prefer an alternative image be used, please let us know.
- The agency reserves the right to revise our application criteria at any time and remove models from the books at our discretion.
We will occasionally reduce the number of models we represent and remove weaker portfolios, or models who no longer work regularly and produce new imagery.
You may apply again in future, but please check our application criteria beforehand for any changes to the requirements.
- If we receive negative feedback following an assignment, or you do not attend a casting or booking as agreed we will remove you from our books unless given reasonable notice or a valid reason.
- All models should be responsible for their own tax and national insurance contributions. If you are not already registered as self-employed, we recommend you seek advice from HM Revenue and Customs.
PHOTOGRAPHERS
We are no longer representing photographers on the website, but we do keep a database of ‘recommended photographers’ on file.
We are interested in photographers who can offer our models TFP or free testing to improve their portfolios. We would also like to send you new faces who we feel have potential, but are in need of professional images to get started.
If you would like to be considered, please email us with the following:
- Your name
- Location
- Your
contact details
- Whether you have access to a studio
- Links where we can review your work
